HTEC achieves security credentials for the tenth year
HTEC, the EPOS, payment and loyalty solutions company has renewed its security credentials for the tenth year running, cementing its credibility as a committed service provider in the payments industry. The company achieved PCI-DSS Level 1 Service Provider compliance status in line with the latest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, PCI DSS V3.2 for the tenth year.
In addition, the Southampton based firm has also retained its status with Visa Europe as an approved Merchant Agent.
The PCI DSS is a global information security standard for organisations that process, store or transmit card payments and is defined by the PCI Security Standards Council, founded by the major card brands. It seeks to encourage and enhance data security and facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures.
This renewal marks ten years since HTEC first achieved PCI DSS Level 1 compliance, a key milestone in the company’s card payment journey. As a payment provider for retail organisations, retaining PCI DSS level 1 certification highlights HTEC’s commitment to securing its payment solution in a landscape where cyber threats and data breaches dominate the news headlines.
Wayne Swallow, managing director of HTEC said: “As a provider of Electronic Fund transfer (EFT) payment solutions to retailers it is key to ensure that our customers can rely on HTEC to provide a secure platform for handling their card payment transactions. We have seen the PCI DSS requirements improve and develop over the last ten years in response to the ever-changing threat landscape and our security operation team continues to meet the challenge of these changes.
